Today’s Congregation strives to reflect the strengths of the Uniting Church – acceptance of diversity, commitment to social justice, inclusiveness, financial generosity and a commitment to building community.
The congregation is steadfast in its conviction that if the community is reluctant to come to the church then the church must be committed to step out into the community. Following the sale, in 2013, of congregation properties (including the a Church), the congregation has extended its mission focus to finance and support a number of activities, including:

- Outreach to members of the local community through the establishment of a full time placement for the role of Lane Cove Community Chaplaincy;
- Support for new and innovative community oriented ministries across the Synod;
- Support for chaplaincy and ministry in rural areas of NSW.
